The DS2155LNC2+ from Analog Devices is a versatile single-chip transceiver (SCT) designed for T1, E1, or J1 applications in both short-haul and long-haul networks. This integrated circuit combines a line interface unit (LIU), framer, HDLC controllers, and a TDM backplane interface, controlled via an 8-bit parallel port. It supports complete T1/DS1/ISDN-PRI/J1 and E1 (CEPT) PCM-30/ISDN-PRI transceiver functionalities.

 

Key features include a crystal-less jitter attenuator, fully independent transmit and receive paths, dual HDLC controllers, and a programmable BERT generator and detector. The device offers internal software-selectable termination resistors for 75Ω/100Ω/120Ω T1 and E1 interfaces, along with dual two-frame elastic-store slip buffers. It synthesizes clock outputs at various frequencies, including 16.384MHz, 8.192MHz, 4.096MHz, or 2.048MHz, to recover the network clock.

 

Designed for applications such as T1/E1/J1 line cards, switches, routers, and add-drop multiplexers, the DS2155LNC2+ is housed in a 100-LQFP package suitable for surface mounting. It operates within a voltage range of 3.14V to 3.47V and consumes approximately 75mA of current. The operating temperature range is specified from -40°C to 85°C.
