The Analog Devices DS21554LN is a single-chip transceiver (SCT) designed to connect to E1 lines. It integrates clock/data recovery circuitry that converts AMI/HDB3 E1 waveforms to an NRZ serial stream. The device automatically adjusts to E1 twisted-pair cables from 0 to over 2km and can generate G.703 waveshapes for coax and twisted cables.

 

Key features include an on-board jitter attenuator selectable to 32 or 128 bits, a framer for locating frame and multiframe boundaries, and an HDLC controller for Sa-bit links or DS0s. The DS21554LN meets various E1 specifications including ITU-T G.703, G.704, G.706, G.823, G.732, and I.431.
