DS2154L

The DS2154L is an enhanced single-chip E1 transceiver from Analog Devices / Maxim Integrated, offering complete E1 (CEPT) PCM-30/ISDN-PRI transceiver functionality. It features an on-board line interface for clock/data recovery and waveshaping, supporting both long- and short-haul lines. The device includes a 32-bit or 128-bit crystal-less jitter attenuator and can generate line build-outs for 120Ω and 75Ω lines.

This transceiver supports framing to FAS, CAS, and CRC4 formats, and includes dual on-board two-frame elastic store slip buffers capable of connecting to asynchronous backplanes up to 8.192MHz. It offers an 8-bit parallel control port compatible with Intel or Motorola buses, and can extract and insert CAS signaling. The DS2154L detects and generates remote and AIS alarms, and provides programmable output clocks for Fractional E1, H0, and H12 applications. It boasts fully independent transmit and receive functionality, with full access to Si and Sa bits aligned with CRC multiframe. The device also includes four separate loopbacks for testing and large counters for various error types.

Packaged in a 100-pin LQFP (14mm x 14mm), the DS2154L operates from a 4.75V to 5.25V supply and is designed for surface mounting. It is pin-compatible with the DS2152 T1 transceiver. The operating temperature range is 0°C to 70°C.
