DS2152L Description

The Analog Devices DS2152L is an enhanced T1 single-chip transceiver designed for telecom applications. This integrated circuit offers complete DS1/ISDN-PRI transceiver functionality, supporting both long- and short-haul trunks. It features a 32-bit or 128-bit crystal-less jitter attenuator and can generate DSX-1 and CSU line build-outs.

 

The device supports framing to D4, ESF, and SLC-96 R formats, with dual on-board two-frame elastic store slip buffers. It includes an 8-bit parallel control port compatible with Intel or Motorola buses. The DS2152L can extract and insert robbed-bit signaling, and detect/generate yellow (RAI) and blue (AIS) alarms. Programmable output clocks are available for fractional T1, with fully independent transmit and receive functionality.

 

Key features include an integral HDLC controller with 16-byte buffers for the FDL, and the ability to generate and detect in-band loop codes. It also contains an ANSI ones density monitor and enforcer, along with large path and line error counters. The DS2152L is pin-compatible with the DS2154 E1 transceiver and operates on a 5V supply using low-power CMOS technology. It is housed in a 100-pin, 14mm x 14mm LQFP package, suitable for surface mounting.
