The DS1815R-20/T&R from Analog Devices is an EconoReset supervisor IC. It utilizes a precision temperature-compensated voltage reference and comparator circuit to monitor the power supply status (VCC). When an out-of-tolerance condition is detected, it generates an internal power-fail signal that forces a reset to the active state. The reset signal is maintained for approximately 150ms after VCC returns to an in-tolerance condition, allowing the power supply and microprocessor to stabilize.
This supervisor IC features a push-pull output and is designed for low current operation. It monitors a single voltage and provides an active-low reset signal. The device operates over a wide temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
The DS1815R-20/T&R is available in a space-saving SOT-23-3 surface-mount package, making it suitable for applications where board space is limited. Its function is to automatically restart a microprocessor after a power failure, reducing the need for discrete components in system designs.
