The DS1812-5 from Dallas Semiconductor is a 5V EconoReset supervisor that monitors power supply status. It features a precision temperature-compensated voltage reference and comparator circuit. When an out-of-tolerance condition is detected, it generates an internal power-fail signal that forces a reset.
Upon VCC returning to an in-tolerance condition, the reset signal is held active for approximately 150 ms, allowing the power supply and processor to stabilize. This device reduces the need for discrete components in power monitoring circuits.
Key electrical specifications include an operating voltage range of 0V to 5.5V and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The output is a push-pull, active-high reset signal.
