The DS1624S+T&R from Analog Devices (formerly Maxim Integrated) is a versatile component combining a direct-to-digital temperature sensor with 256 bytes of non-volatile EEPROM memory. This integration reduces component count and simplifies designs.
The temperature sensor accurately measures ambient temperatures from -55°C to +125°C with a resolution of 0.0625°C and an accuracy of ±0.5°C from 0°C to 70°C. The EEPROM memory can be used to store user-defined information, such as frequency compensation coefficients.
Communication and temperature readings are handled via an easy-to-use 2-wire serial interface (I²C). The device is available in an 8-pin SOIC package, suitable for surface mounting.
Key features include a wide operating voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V, one-shot capability, and standby mode for power efficiency. This makes the DS1624S+T&R suitable for various monitoring and data logging applications.
