The DS1624S from Analog Devices / Maxim Integrated is a versatile component combining a direct-to-digital temperature sensor with 256 bytes of nonvolatile E2 memory. This integration reduces component count in designs requiring both temperature monitoring and data storage.
The temperature sensor accurately measures ambient temperatures from -55°C to +125°C with a resolution of 0.0625°C. It offers an accuracy of ±0.5°C from 0°C to 70°C. The nonvolatile memory can store user-defined information and is accessed through the same 2-wire serial interface used for temperature readings.
Designed for ease of use, the DS1624S features a simple 2-wire serial interface (I2C). It operates from a supply voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V. The device is available in an 8-pin SOIC package, suitable for surface mounting.
Key features include one-shot and standby modes, making it adaptable for various power management strategies. The integrated nature of the temperature sensor and memory makes it ideal for applications needing local data logging and environmental monitoring.
