The RTC registers store century, year, month, date, day, hours, minutes, and seconds in 24-hour binary-coded decimal (BCD) format, with automatic leap-year compensation valid up to the year 2100.

 

This device operates with a voltage range of 2.5V to 3.7V and has an operating temperature range of 0°C to 70°C. It utilizes a byte-wide parallel interface for user access to all registers. Key features include a programmable watchdog timer, RTC alarm, precision power-on reset, and power-control circuitry that supports system power-on from a date/day/time alarm or key closure. The DS1500YE also includes an auxiliary battery input and battery voltage-level indicator flags.
