The device operates in 24-hour or 12-hour format with an AM/PM indicator. The calendar automatically adjusts for months with fewer than 31 days, including leap year corrections.

 

A watchdog timer is included to provide a reset for an unresponsive microprocessor, programmable in 10ms intervals. The device monitors VCC status and automatically switches to a backup supply upon detecting a primary power failure, driving the reset output to an active state. The backup supply maintains time and date operation when VCC is absent. It also features a pushbutton reset controller that debounces a reset input signal.

 

This RTC/Supervisor is available in an 8-SOIC package and is designed for surface mount applications. It operates over a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C and supports a voltage range of 1.3V to 5.5V.
