DS1315-5

The DS1315-5, manufactured by Analog Devices / Maxim Integrated, is a Phantom Time Chip designed for real-time clock applications. This component integrates a CMOS timekeeper with a nonvolatile memory controller, ensuring timekeeping operations continue even in the absence of power when an external battery is connected.

Key features include the ability to track hundredths of seconds, seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year, with automatic leap year correction valid up to the year 2100. The device operates in either a 12-hour or 24-hour format and supports a parallel interface. It requires no address space for RTC communication and provides nonvolatile controller functions for battery backup of SRAM, with support for redundant battery attachments for enhanced reliability.

The DS1315-5 operates within a voltage range of 2.5V to 3.7V and has an operating temperature range of 0°C to 70°C. It is supplied in a 16-PDIP package suitable for through-hole mounting.
