DS1308U-33+

The Analog Devices / Maxim Integrated DS1308U-33+ is a serial real-time clock (RTC) IC designed for low-power applications. It provides full binary-coded decimal (BCD) clock and calendar functions, including seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year, with automatic leap-year correction valid up to 2400. The device operates in either 24-hour or 12-hour format with an AM/PM indicator.

Key features include a built-in power-sense circuit that automatically switches to a backup supply during power failures, ensuring continuous timekeeping. It offers 56 bytes of battery-backed non-volatile RAM (NVRAM) for general-purpose use with unlimited writes. The DS1308U-33+ communicates via an I2C serial interface, making it compatible with most microcontrollers.

This RTC IC supports an industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, making it suitable for a wide variety of applications. It is available in an 8-pin uMAX/uSOP package and is designed for surface mounting.
