The Analog Devices DS1233DZ-15 is a 5V EconoReset supervisor IC that monitors the power supply status (VCC) using a precision temperature-compensated reference and comparator circuit. When an out-of-tolerance condition is detected, it generates an internal power-fail signal that forces a reset to the active state. Upon VCC returning to an in-tolerance condition, the reset signal is maintained for approximately 350 ms to allow the power supply and processor to stabilize.
This supervisor IC offers accurate 5%, 10%, or 15% power supply monitoring for 5V systems. It reduces the need for discrete components and includes an internal 5 k pull-up resistor. The device is compatible with Motorola 68XXX series and HC16 microprocessors. It operates over a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
The DS1233DZ-15 is available in a low-cost SOT-223 surface mount package, making it suitable for various embedded systems and microprocessor-based designs where reliable power monitoring and reset functions are critical. The reset output is active low and features an open-drain or open-collector configuration.
