The Analog Devices DS1232LPSN-2+ is a low-power supervisor IC that monitors critical conditions for microprocessors, including power supply status, software execution, and external override signals. It features a precision temperature-compensated reference and comparator circuit to monitor VCC status. When VCC falls below a preset level, an internal power-fail signal forces a reset to the active state. The reset signals remain active for a minimum of 250 ms after VCC returns to tolerance, allowing the power supply and processor to stabilize.
This supervisor also incorporates pushbutton reset control with debouncing and guarantees an active reset pulse width of 250 ms minimum. Additionally, it includes a watchdog timer function that forces reset signals to the active state if the strobe input is not driven low before timeout. The watchdog timer can be set for timeout settings of approximately 150 ms, 600 ms, and 1.2 seconds.
The DS1232LPSN-2+ is available in an 8-SOIC package and operates within an industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. It offers accurate 5% or 10% microprocessor power supply monitoring and a quiescent current of only 50 µA, making it suitable for low-power applications.
