The DS1232LPS-2 from MAXIX is a low power MicroMonitor chip designed for microprocessor supervision. It monitors vital conditions including power supply status, software execution, and external override signals.

 

This supervisor IC features precise temperature-compensated circuitry to monitor VCC. When VCC falls below a preset threshold (either 4.75V or 4.5V depending on TOL configuration), it generates a power-fail signal that forces a reset. The reset signals remain active for a minimum of 250 ms after VCC returns to tolerance, allowing the system to stabilize.

 

In addition to power monitoring, the DS1232LPS-2 includes pushbutton reset control with debouncing and a watchdog timer function. The watchdog timer can be set to timeout at approximately 150 ms, 600 ms, or 1.2 seconds, forcing a reset if the strobe input is not driven low before timeout.

 

The DS1232LPS-2 is available in an 8-pin SOIC package and is suitable for surface mounting. It operates within an industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
