DS1232LPS-2

The DS1232LPS-2 is a low-power supervisor integrated circuit designed to monitor critical conditions for microprocessor systems. It monitors power supply status, software execution, and external override signals. The device features accurate 5% or 10% power supply monitoring with selectable thresholds of 4.37V or 4.62V. When a power supply out-of-tolerance condition occurs, it forces a reset signal to the active state. This reset signal is maintained for a minimum of 250 ms after the power supply returns to tolerance, allowing the system to stabilize.

This supervisor IC also includes a pushbutton reset input with debouncing and a watchdog timer function. The watchdog timer can be set to timeout at approximately 150 ms, 600 ms, or 1.2 seconds, forcing a reset if the strobe input is not driven low before timeout. The DS1232LPS-2 is available in an 8-pin SOIC surface mount package.

Key electrical specifications include a quiescent current of 50 µA. The operating temperature range for this specific part is 0°C to 70°C (TA), though industrial temperature versions are also available. The output signals are open drain and push-pull, supporting both active high and active low reset configurations.
