The DS1231S-20+ is a power monitor chip designed to warn processors of impending power failures, providing time for an orderly shutdown. It prevents non-volatile memory destruction during power transients and automatically restarts the processor after power is restored.
This supervisor chip is suitable for linear or switching power supplies and adjusts to the hold time of the power supply. It supplies necessary signals for processor interface with accurate 5% or 10% VCC monitoring. The device replaces power-up reset circuitry and requires no external capacitors.
