Control is offered through two modes: built-in indexer logic with STEP/DIRECTION control for up to 1/32-step microstepping, or PHASE/ENABLE control for driving external references for microstepping. Dynamic tBLANK and mixed decay modes are incorporated for smooth microstepping performance. Internal shutdown functions provide protection against overcurrent, short circuits, and undervoltage, along with overtemperature protection. A low-power sleep mode is also available.

The DRV8834 is available in thermally enhanced surface-mount packages, including HTSSOP and VQFN, both with a PowerPAD. These packages are eco-friendly and RoHS compliant.
