DRV632PW

The DRV632PW from Texas Instruments is a DirectPath™ stereo audio line driver designed for applications where reduced component count and cost are critical. It is capable of driving 2 Vrms into a 10 kΩ load with a 3.3-V supply, eliminating the need for output DC-blocking capacitors.

Key electrical specifications include a low THD+N of less than 0.01% at 2 Vrms into 10 kΩ and a high SNR of over 90 dB. The device supports a gain range of ±1 V/V to ±10 V/V, configurable via external resistors, and features low DC offset (<1 mV). It is compliant with 600-Ω output loads and offers ±8-kV IEC ESD protection on its line outputs.

Designed for single-supply electronics, the DRV632PW integrates a charge pump to generate a negative supply rail, enabling a ground-referenced output. This design minimizes board area and component costs while improving THD+N performance and preserving low-frequency response. The device also includes click- and pop-reduction circuitry and active mute control for seamless audio on/off transitions, along with external undervoltage mute for pop-free shutdown.

The DRV632PW is housed in a space-saving 14-pin TSSOP package, suitable for surface mount applications. Its operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C.
