DRV5032

The Texas Instruments DRV5032 is an ultra-low-power digital-switch Hall effect sensor engineered for applications where space and power consumption are critical. This device is suitable for a wide range of uses due to its availability in multiple magnetic thresholds, sampling rates, output drivers, and package options.

Key electrical characteristics include an operating voltage range of 1.65V to 5.5V and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The sensor boasts industry-leading low power consumption, with versions consuming as little as 0.54µA at 5Hz, 1.3µA at 20Hz, and 5.2µA at 80Hz. It supports both omnipolar and unipolar magnetic responses.

The DRV5032 features multiple magnetic threshold options, with maximum operating points (BOP) ranging from 3.4mT to 63mT, allowing for precise application tuning. The output driver can be configured as either open-drain or push-pull. The device is offered in SOT-23, X2SON, and TO-92 package types, facilitating integration into various designs.

When the applied magnetic flux density exceeds the BOP threshold, the DRV5032 outputs a low voltage. The output remains low until the flux density drops below the release point (BRP). The device samples the magnetic field using an internal oscillator at rates of 5Hz, 20Hz, or 80Hz.
