DLPA2005ERSLR Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The Texas Instruments DLPA2005ERSLR is a versatile PMIC/LED driver specifically designed for DLP® products, including DLP2010 and DLP2010NIR DMDs. This component integrates a high-efficiency RGB LED/lamp driver with a buck-boost DC-to-DC converter, DMD supplies, a DPP core supply, an 1.8-V load switch, and a measurement system, all within a compact chip-scale package.

Key electrical features include independent 10-bit current control per channel with up to 2.4-A maximum LED current. The device incorporates a DPP 1.1-V core supply synchronous step-down converter supporting up to 600-mA output current, and a VLED buck-boost converter with a power-save mode for light loads. The input voltage range for the VLED converter is 1.8 V to 3.6 V, with a low-impedance load switch supporting up to 200 mA.

This IC also provides essential functions like DMD regulator supplies (VOFS: 10 V, VBIAS: 18 V, VRST: -14 V) and DMD reset signal generation. A 33-MHz Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) allows for multiplexing analog signals, including battery voltage, LED voltage, LED current, and light sensor inputs for white point correction. The DLPA2005ERSLR includes comprehensive monitoring and protection circuits, such as external temperature sensor monitoring, programmable battery undervoltage lockout (UVLO), load switch UVLO, and overcurrent/undervoltage protection.

The DLPA2005ERSLR is housed in a 48-pin VQFN package with exposed pad, measuring 6 mm × 6 mm with a 0.4-mm pitch. Its surface mount type and compact dimensions make it suitable for space-constrained embedded applications like DLP® Pico™ projectors and mobile sensing devices.
