The NexTek DLP-GBE-BTI-D is an indoor lightning and transient surge protector specifically designed for IEEE 802.3ab Gigabit Ethernet connections. It safeguards sensitive network endpoints from lightning-induced surges that can travel along CAT5/6 data cables, commonly used in wireless applications.
This device features multiple strike capability and pure surge protection on all lines, diverting damaging energy safely to ground. It operates passively under normal conditions and becomes active only during excessive transient events. The protector supports a data rate of 1000 Mbps (1000 Base-T) and has an impedance of 100 Ω nominal.
Key electrical specifications include a maximum one-time surge current of 300A (10/1000µS) and 5kA (8/20µS), with repetitive surge handling of 100A (10/1000µS) and 3kA (8/20µS). Surge let-through voltage is rated below 30V line-to-line and below 15V line-to-ground under various surge conditions.
Mechanically, the DLP-GBE-BTI-D has a rugged and lightweight design, weighing 3.7 oz, and is designed for panel mounting. It operates within an environmental temperature range of -40 to +65°C and can withstand 0 to 100% relative humidity (condensing). The unit is RoHS compliant and NEBS Level 3 compliant.
