The DG408 from Harris Semiconductor is a monolithic CMOS analog multiplexer featuring a single 8-channel configuration. It serves as a direct replacement for older DG508A series devices, offering improved performance such as lower ON resistance (<100 Ω at 25°C) and faster switch transition times (<250 ns). The device includes a TTL/CMOS compatible digital decode circuit for channel selection and an ENABLE input for device selection.
Designed for versatility, the DG408 supports single-ended power supplies from +5V to +34V or split supplies from ±5V to ±20V. Its analog switches are bilateral, providing matched performance for AC or bidirectional signals with low ON resistance variation over a ±5V analog input range. Charge injection has also been reduced, simplifying its use in sample and hold applications.
Available in PDIP, SOIC, and TSSOP packages, the DG408 is suitable for applications including data acquisition systems, audio switching, automatic testers, and communication systems. Its high-voltage silicon-gate process and epitaxial layer prevent latch-up, ensuring reliability in demanding environments.
