The DFLT20A-7 is a 225W surface mount transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode from Diodes Incorporated, designed to protect sensitive electronic circuits from voltage transients. It features a standoff voltage of 20V and a clamping voltage of 32.4V at a peak pulse current of 6.94A (10/1000µs waveform). The device can handle a peak pulse power of 225W under the same waveform, with a higher rating of 1125W for an 8/20µs waveform.
This TVS diode is housed in a PowerDI 123 surface mount package, which is molded with a green molding compound and has a UL flammability rating of 94V-0. The terminals are matte tin annealed over a copper leadframe, ensuring excellent solderability per MIL-STD-202, Method 208. The device is lead-free, RoHS compliant, and halogen- and antimony-free, making it suitable for environmentally conscious designs.
Typical applications include general-purpose transient protection in consumer, industrial, and automotive electronics (automotive-compliant variants are available under separate datasheets). The diode is unidirectional, with a cathode band for easy identification. It is rated for an operating junction temperature range of -65°C to 150°C.
