The 3M D89114-0131HK is a 14 position IDC receptacle designed for 0.050" pitch ribbon cable. It features a 2.54mm (0.100") pitch and 2 rows with 2.54mm row spacing. The connector uses insulation displacement contacts to terminate 26-28 AWG stranded wire, providing reliable connections without wire stripping.
The housing is molded from gray glass filled polyester with UL94V-0 flammability rating. Contacts are phosphor bronze with gold plating (15.0µin / 0.38µm) over nickel underplate. Electrical performance includes insulation resistance greater than 1×10⁹ Ω at 500 VDC and withstanding voltage of 1000 V RMS at sea level. Current rating varies by wire gauge and adjacent line count: with 28 AWG wire, up to 3.00A for a single line and 1.25A when all lines are powered; with 26 AWG wire, up to 3.50A for a single line and 1.50A for all lines (20% derated, maximum 30°C temperature rise).
The connector includes feed through and polarizing key features. The double-recessed cover allows cable termination from either side. It is intended for free hanging (in-line) mounting and is suitable for internal wiring, computer peripherals, and industrial control applications.
