The 3M D89110-0101HK is a 10-position IDC ribbon cable socket from the D891 series, designed for .050" pitch ribbon cable. It is a receptacle connector with female socket contacts, gold plated over 50µin nickel underplating, and phosphor bronze contact material. The housing is made of glass filled polyester with UL94 V-0 flammability rating and gray color. The connector is preassembled and free hanging (in-line) mount, with double-recessed cover for cable termination from either side.
Electrical characteristics include an insulation resistance greater than 1 x 10^9 Ω at 500 V DC, withstanding voltage of 1000 V RMS at sea level, and current ratings that vary by wire gauge and number of powered lines. For 28 AWG, current ratings range from 1.25 A (all lines powered) to 3.00 A (single line powered). For 26 AWG, ratings range from 1.50 A to 3.50 A under the same conditions. The connector accommodates 26-28 AWG stranded wire.
Mechanical features include feed through and polarizing key for proper alignment, and optional center bump for polarization. The packaging is preassembled on swords for easy loading into manual or semi-automatic assembly equipment. Bulk packaging option is also available.
