The D8020L is a standard recovery rectifier diode from Littelfuse's Dxx20L series, designed for DC phase control applications with motor loads. It features a maximum repetitive reverse voltage (VRRM) of 800V and an average forward current (IF(AV)) of 12.7A. The diode has a maximum forward voltage drop of 1.6V at 12.7A and a typical reverse recovery time of 4µs. It can handle peak non-repetitive surge currents up to 300A at 60Hz and 255A at 50Hz, with an I2t rating of 374 A²s. The junction-to-case thermal resistance is 2.55 °C/W, and the operating temperature range is -40°C to 125°C.
The device is housed in a TO-220-3 isolated tab package, allowing through-hole mounting. The isolated tab enables use in circuits with common anode or common cathode connections. Typical applications include AC to DC solid-state switches for industrial power tools, exercise equipment, white goods, and commercial appliances. The diode is RoHS3 compliant and has a glass-passivated junction for reliability.
