The D2899-42 is a 3-position (1x3, 2 loaded) DIP IC socket from Harwin Inc., designed for through hole mounting with solder termination. It uses a closed frame housing made of glass-filled polyamide (nylon) and features beryllium copper contacts with a tin finish (flash thickness). The socket has a 5.08mm (0.200") pitch and a row spacing of 0.3" (7.62mm).
Electrical ratings include a maximum current of 3A per contact at 25°C ambient with one contact loaded, derating to 1A at 85°C. With all contacts loaded, the rating is 1.5A at 25°C and 1.25A at 85°C. Initial contact resistance is 10mΩ max, and insulation resistance is 10,000MΩ min. The socket withstands 1,000V rms dielectric strength and is rated for 100V rms/150V DC. Capacitance between contacts is 1.5pF max.
Mechanical specifications include a minimum creepage path and air gap of 0.7mm contact-to-contact. The operating temperature range is -55°C to 125°C. The socket is suitable for mating pins with a diameter of 0.40-0.56mm and can be used as a fuse holder or for other 2-tail components.
