The Harwin D2808-42 is an 8-position (4+4) dual row DIP IC socket designed for through hole mounting. It features a 2.54mm (0.100") contact pitch and 0.3" (7.62mm) row spacing, making it suitable for standard DIP packages. The socket has an open frame design for easy cleaning and inspection.
Electrical ratings include a maximum current of 3A per contact at 25°C ambient when one contact is loaded, and 1.5A per contact when all contacts are loaded. Contact resistance is 10mΩ maximum initial, and insulation resistance is 10,000MΩ minimum. The socket can withstand 1000V rms dielectric strength and is rated for 100V rms or 150V DC. Capacitance between contacts is 1.5pF maximum.
Mechanically, the socket uses beryllium copper contacts with gold plating on mating surfaces and tin on terminations, housed in a glass-filled thermoplastic insulator. The operating temperature range is -55°C to 125°C. It is designed to mate with pins of 0.40mm to 0.56mm diameter, making it suitable for ICs and other components with round pins.
