Key features include four independent UART interfaces with full modem control signals, 16 configurable GPIOs, and no firmware development requirement thanks to a simple GUI-based configurator. The integrated EEPROM allows for customization of USB Vendor ID (VID), Product ID (PID), and other device descriptors. It operates within a voltage range of 3V to 3.6V and an industrial temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.

 

This device is ideal for a wide range of applications, including instrumentation, industrial control, servers, and point-of-sale products. It supports royalty-free Virtual COM port (VCP) drivers, enabling easy integration with existing COM port PC applications. The CP2108 eliminates the need for external resistors and crystals, reducing component count and PCB space.
