The Silicon Labs CP2104-F03-GM is a highly integrated single-chip USB to UART bridge controller. It simplifies the design of USB-to-serial communication by eliminating the need for external resistors and crystals.
This device complies with USB Specification 2.0 at full-speed (12 Mbps) and supports asynchronous serial data transfer with configurable data formats, stop bits, and parity. It offers baud rates ranging from 300 bps to 2 Mbps, with 576-byte transmit and receive buffers.
The CP2104-F03-GM operates with a supply voltage between 3.0V and 3.6V for self-powered applications, or 4.0V to 5.25V when USB bus-powered. The I/O voltage is configurable from 1.8V to VDD. It features four GPIO signals for status and control, and an integrated 1024-byte OTP ROM for custom product information.
Packaged in a compact 24-pin QFN (4x4 mm) with a surface mount type, this bridge is suitable for upgrading legacy RS-232 or RS-485 devices to USB, and for applications like cellular phone or PDA interface cables. The operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C.
