CP2102N-A02-GQFN20 Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The CP2102N-A02-GQFN20, part of Silicon Labs' USBXpress family, is a single-chip USB-to-UART bridge controller designed to simplify the integration of USB connectivity into applications. It eliminates the need for firmware development and external USB components, reducing development time and PCB space.

This highly integrated controller features a USB 2.0 full-speed function controller, USB transceiver, oscillator, and Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter (UART). It supports data transfer rates up to 3 Mbaud and operates within a voltage range of 3V to 3.6V, with a low operating current of 9.5 mA.

The device is housed in a compact 20-QFN (3x3 mm) package, suitable for surface mount applications. It includes features like USB Battery Charger Detection (USB BCS 1.2 Specification) and remote wakeup capabilities for waking a suspended host. Royalty-free Virtual COM port drivers are available, making it ideal for applications such as POS terminals, USB dongles, gaming controllers, medical equipment, and data loggers.

Key features include an integrated USB transceiver and clock, requiring no external resistors or crystals. Customization options are available through a simple GUI-based configurator. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C.
