The illuminants are previously defined light sources such as daylight, store light, UV light and incandescent lamps. In this way, it can also be checked during the production of products whether the colour values are still within the required range. Metamerism in general refers to the fact that the same colours can look different under different illuminants. The internal operating hours counter of the Color Viewing Box registers the lighting times of the individual lamps and thus ensures that the lamps are not changed too early or too late. The usage time of the lamps in a Color Viewing Box should not exceed 2000 hours. In addition to the operating hours, the switch-on processes for each illuminant in the Color Viewing Box are also counted.
