The onsemi CM1223-02SO is an industry-first low capacitance ESD protection array with integrated backdrive protection, designed to safeguard high-speed electronic interfaces. This device integrates two unidirectional channels of steering diodes that clamp positive and negative ESD transients to the supply rails. A Zener diode between Vp and Vn absorbs positive strikes and protects the positive rail.
Key electrical specifications include a reverse standoff voltage of 3.3V, a typical clamping voltage of 8.8V, and a peak pulse current rating of 1A (8/20µs). The ultra-low channel input capacitance of 1.0 pF (typical) and mutual capacitance of only 0.11 pF between adjacent pins minimize signal degradation on differential pairs. ESD robustness meets IEC 61000-4-2 Level 4 with ±8kV contact discharge and ±15kV air discharge, as well as MIL-STD-883 HBM >15kV.
This component is particularly well-suited for USB 2.0, IEEE1394 (Firewire), Serial ATA, DVI, and HDMI ports in applications such as removable storage, digital camcorders, DVD-RW drives, and other systems where low capacitive loading and small footprint are critical.
The CM1223-02SO is housed in a compact SOT-23-5 package (also designated SC-74A, SOT-753) and is rated for surface mount assembly.
