The WCH CH432Q is a versatile dual UART chip designed for extending serial port capabilities in MCU and embedded systems. It provides two fully independent UARTs, compatible with 16C450, 16C550, and 16C552 standards, supporting data bits from 5 to 8, and 1 or 2 stop bits. Parity options include odd, even, mark, space, and none.
This chip supports programmable baud rates up to 4Mbps, with a built-in 16-byte FIFO buffer and four trigger levels for efficient data handling. It features hardware flow control with automatic handshake and transmission rate control, compatible with TL16C550C. The CH432Q also includes serial port frame error detection and break line interval detection.
Communication modes include full-duplex and half-duplex, with support for RS485 transceiving automatic switch. An integrated SIR infrared Codec enables IrDA infrared communication at baud rates from 2,400bps to 115,200bps. The chip operates with a supply voltage of 3.3V or 5V and includes a low-power sleep mode.
Two MCU interface options are available: an 8-bit passive parallel interface operating at 10MB/s and an SPI serial interface operating at 3MB/s (24MHz). The CH432Q is available in QFP-44 and SSOP-20 lead-free packages, compatible with RoHS standards.
