The CGP30-E3/54 is a glass-passivated standard recovery rectifier diode from Vishay General Semiconductor. It is rated for a maximum repetitive peak reverse voltage of 1400 V and a maximum average forward rectified current of 3 A, making it suitable for high-voltage rectification in power supplies and similar circuits.
The diode has a maximum forward voltage of 1.2 V at 3 A forward current, a maximum reverse current of 5 µA at room temperature, and a peak forward surge current rating of 100 A for an 8.3 ms single half sine-wave. Its maximum junction temperature is 175 °C, with an operating temperature range of -65 °C to 175 °C. Reverse recovery time is 15 µs under test conditions IF=0.5 A, IR=50 mA.
The part is supplied in a standard recovery DO-201AD axial lead package with through-hole mounting. The case is molded epoxy over a glass body, and the leads are matte tin plated, making the part solderable per J-STD-002. The package is RoHS3 compliant, and the molding compound meets UL 94 V-0 flammability rating.
Typical applications include high voltage rectification in power supplies, inverters, converters, freewheeling diodes for clamping circuits, horizontal deflection systems, and damper applications.
