The Littelfuse CG5230L is a gas discharge tube (GDT) from the CG5 series designed for overvoltage protection in communication and broadband equipment. It features a typical DC breakdown voltage of 230V (184V min, 276V max) and an impulse breakdown voltage of 550V at 100V/µs and 650V at 1kV/µs. The device offers a nominal impulse discharge current of 5kA (8/20µs) and can handle AC discharge currents of 5A (10 x 1 sec) and 10A (9 cycles, 50 Hz). With a low capacitance of 1.5pF at 1MHz, it minimizes insertion loss for high-speed data lines. The GDT is packaged in an axial cylinder with through-hole mounting and is RoHS compliant and lead-free. It is suitable for CATV, DSL, ADSL2+, and general telecom surge protection applications.
