The CDSOT23-T24CAN from Bourns is a dual-channel TVS diode array specifically designed for protecting CAN bus transceivers from electrostatic discharge (ESD) and electrical surges. It meets IEC 61000-4-2 ESD requirements up to 30 kV contact discharge and IEC 61000-4-5 surge up to 500V (1.2/50µs waveform).
This device features a reverse standoff voltage of 24V and a breakdown voltage range of 26.2V to 32V. The clamping voltage is typically 36V at 5A and maximum 40V at 8A (8/20µs waveform). Peak pulse current handling is 8A for 8/20µs and 6A for 1.2/50µs waveforms. The low capacitance (22pF typical line-to-ground) minimizes signal degradation on high-speed CAN lines.
The CDSOT23-T24CAN is housed in a compact SOT-23 surface-mount package, conforming to JEDEC standards. It is RoHS compliant and includes a California Proposition 65 warning. The dual TVS array protects two data lines with a single device, simplifying layout on space-constrained PCB designs.
Operating temperature range is -40°C to +150°C (junction) with storage from -55°C to +150°C. This device is compatible with CAN transceivers featuring internal circuitry for 24V power supply miswiring protection.
