The Bourns CDNBS08-T36C is a bidirectional TVS diode array designed to protect four lines from electrostatic discharge (ESD) and transient voltage surges. It features a working peak voltage of 36V and a minimum breakdown voltage of 40V at 1mA. The device clamps transients to a maximum of 51V at 1A and a typical 76.8V under an 8/20μs pulse, with a peak pulse power rating of 500W.
This TVS array provides ESD protection per IEC 61000-4-2, with contact discharge ratings from ±8kV to ±30kV and air discharge from ±15kV to ±30kV. It also meets IEC 61000-4-4 (EFT) and IEC 61000-4-5 (Surge) requirements. The device has a maximum leakage current of 1μA at the working voltage and a maximum capacitance of 45pF at 0V and 1MHz.
The CDNBS08-T36C is housed in an 8-SOIC surface-mount package (0.154" width) with gull-wing terminations, suitable for standard pick-and-place assembly. It operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to +150°C and is RoHS compliant.
Typical applications include audio/video inputs, RS-232, RS-422 and RS-423 data lines, portable electronics, and medical sensors.
