The Bourns CDNBS08-T08C is a bidirectional TVS diode array designed to protect four lines from electrostatic discharge (ESD) and transient voltage surges. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 8.0V and a minimum breakdown voltage of 8.5V at 1mA. The typical clamping voltage is 16.9V at a peak pulse current of 34A (8/20μs waveform), with a maximum clamping voltage of 13.4V at 1A. The device offers a peak pulse power rating of 500W (8/20μs) and a typical capacitance of 300pF at 1MHz.
This TVS array provides robust ESD protection of ±30kV (contact and air discharge) per IEC 61000-4-2, making it suitable for protecting sensitive electronic inputs. It is housed in an 8-SOIC (0.154", 3.90mm width) surface-mount package, which is compatible with standard pick-and-place assembly processes. The operating temperature range is -55°C to +150°C.
Typical applications include audio/video inputs, RS-232, RS-422 and RS-423 data lines, portable electronics, and medical sensors. The bidirectional configuration makes it ideal for lines where the signal can swing both positive and negative relative to ground.
