CD74HC4514M

The CD74HC4514M from Texas Instruments is a high-speed silicon gate device featuring a 4-bit strobed latch and a 4-to-16 line decoder. This IC functions as both a binary to 1-of-16 decoder and a 1-to-16 line demultiplexer. The selected output is enabled by a low on the enable input (E\), while a high on E\ inhibits any output selection. Demultiplexing is achieved by using the E\ input as the data input and the select inputs (A0-A3) as addresses. The E\ input also serves as a chip select when these devices are cascaded.

This device operates with a supply voltage range of 2V to 6V and maintains functionality across a wide temperature range of -55°C to 125°C. It offers high noise immunity, with N IL = 30% and N IH = 30% of V CC at V CC = 5V. The CD74HC4514M provides balanced propagation delay and transition times, along with significant power reduction compared to LSTTL logic ICs. Standard outputs can fan out to 10 LSTTL loads, while bus driver outputs can fan out to 15 LSTTL loads.
