The CD4511BNSR from Texas Instruments is a CMOS BCD-to-7-segment latch decoder driver. It is constructed with CMOS logic and n-p-n bipolar transistor output devices, offering low quiescent power dissipation and high noise immunity.
This device features input latches for BCD code storage, a Lamp Test capability, and a Blanking input for display control. The 7-segment outputs are blanked for BCD input codes greater than 1001. It has a wide operating voltage range from 3V to 18V and can source up to 25 mA, allowing direct driving of LEDs and other displays.
The CD4511BNSR is suitable for applications such as driving common-cathode LED displays, multiplexing with common-cathode LED displays, driving incandescent displays, and driving low-voltage fluorescent displays. It is supplied in a 16-SOIC package and is designed for surface mounting.
Key electrical characteristics include a maximum supply current of 3000 µA, a maximum input current of 1 µA at 18V over the full package temperature range, and a typical quiescent current that is 100% tested at 20V.
