CD4066BM Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The Texas Instruments CD4066BM is a quad bilateral switch, pin-for-pin compatible with the CD4016B but with significantly lower on-state resistance. This device is ideal for the transmission or multiplexing of analog or digital signals.

Key electrical characteristics include a typical on-state resistance of 125Ω for 15V operation, with resistance matched within 5Ω over the full 15V signal-input range and remaining flat across the peak-to-peak signal range. It boasts a high on/off output-voltage ratio of 80dB typical and a high degree of linearity with less than 0.5% distortion typical. The off-state switch leakage is extremely low at 10 pA typical, contributing to a high effective off-state resistance. Control input impedance is exceptionally high at 10¹² Ω typical, isolating the control circuit from the signal circuit. Crosstalk between switches is low at -50dB typical, and the frequency response for switch-on is 40 MHz typical.

The CD4066BM operates over a voltage range of 3V to 18V and has an operating temperature range of -55°C to 125°C. It is supplied in a 14-SOIC package and is designed for surface mount applications.

Applications include analog signal switching and multiplexing, digital signal switching, transmission-gate logic implementation, and analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion.
