The Bourns CD143A-SR05 is a steering (rail-to-rail) TVS diode array designed to protect sensitive electronics from ESD, EFT, and surge events. It is part of the CD143A series and features two unidirectional channels with a working peak voltage of 5V and a breakdown voltage of 6V minimum at 1mA. The device delivers a peak pulse power of 500W (8/20µs) and clamps transients to 20V maximum at 28A peak pulse current.
This TVS array provides robust ESD protection exceeding IEC 61000-4-2 requirements, with minimum ratings of ±8kV contact discharge and ±15kV air discharge. It also meets IEC 61000-4-4 (EFT) and IEC 61000-4-5 (Surge) standards. The low leakage current of 5µA at VWM and low capacitance of 10pF per data line at 0V and 1MHz make it suitable for high-speed data interfaces.
Typical applications include Ethernet (10/100/1000 Base-T), Firewire, USB ports, portable electronics, and video/graphic cards. The device can protect Vcc and two data lines simultaneously.
The CD143A-SR05 is housed in a surface-mount SOT-143 package (JEDEC SOT-143, also referred to as TO-253-4 or TO-253AA). It operates over a temperature range of -55°C to +150°C and is compliant with RoHS3, Halogen Free, and UL 94V-0 flammability rating. The component is lead-free and weighs approximately 39.96mg.
