The ARCO CCD-203 is a high-performance scientific CCD sensor designed for demanding applications in astronomy and scientific imaging. It boasts a large 4096 x 4096 pixel array with 12.0 µm square pixels, providing high-resolution imaging capabilities. The sensor features back-illumination for enhanced spectral response and very low noise output amplifiers, ensuring exceptional sensitivity.
With a 49.2 mm x 49.2 mm image area and flatness better than ±15 µm, the CCD-203 is suitable for precise measurements. It operates at -100 °C and offers a low output impedance of approximately 350 Ω, simplifying integration with external electronics. The compact, buttable package design allows for close integration in multi-sensor arrays.
This device is based on the well-established CCD42 and CCD44 family of sensors, offering a robust solution for low-noise spectroscopy and broadband photometric imaging. Its split-frame architecture with two output registers and four outputs provides flexibility in readout modes, supporting one, two, or four outputs. Binning capabilities are also integrated, allowing operation as a 2048 x 2068, 24 µm-pixel imager.
