CAP012DG

The CAP012DG from Power Integrations is a specialized IC within the CAPZero family, designed for automatic X capacitor discharge. When AC voltage is applied, it blocks current through the X capacitor discharge resistors, reducing power loss to less than 5 mW at 230 VAC. Upon disconnection of the AC supply, it automatically discharges the X capacitor.

This device simplifies EMI filter design by allowing larger X capacitors without increasing power consumption. It features a high differential surge withstand of 1000V internal MOSFETs and requires no external bias. The IC has a creepage distance of over 4 mm on the package and PCB, meeting safety standards.
