The BZX84C27 is a Zener diode manufactured by On Semiconductor (formerly Fairchild Semiconductor). It provides a nominal zener voltage of 27V with a ±5% tolerance (C grade) for the general-purpose BZX84C series. The device is available in a compact SOT-23-3 surface mount package with gull wing terminations, suitable for automated assembly.
Electrical characteristics include a maximum forward voltage of 900mV at 10mA, reverse leakage current of 50nA at 18.9V, and dynamic impedance of 80Ω at 5mA. The zener voltage range is specified at three test currents: 25.1V to 28.9V at 5mA, 25.0V to 28.9V at 1mA, and 25.2V to 29.4V at 20mA.
Thermal performance is rated at 250mW maximum power dissipation when referenced to junction-to-ambient (RθJA=465°C/W on FR-4 PCB) and 550mW when referenced to junction-to-lead (RθJL=220°C/W). The operating junction temperature range is -55°C to 150°C, with a storage temperature range of the same limits.
