The BZW50-180B is a bidirectional TVS diode from STMicroelectronics designed for transient voltage suppression in general purpose applications. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 180V and a maximum clamping voltage of 410V at a peak pulse current of 146A (8/20µs waveform). With a peak pulse power rating of 5000W (5kW), this device provides robust protection against voltage transients.
This TVS diode is housed in an R-6 axial package and is through-hole mountable, making it suitable for a variety of circuit protection designs. The device has a nominal capacitance of 750pF at 1MHz, which should be considered for high-frequency signal lines. It is not intended for power line protection.
The BZW50-180B is RoHS3 compliant, REACH unaffected, and has an MSL rating of 1 (unlimited). It is commonly used in applications requiring high surge capability and bidirectional protection.
