The BZW04-6V4B is a 400W bidirectional transient voltage suppressor diode from Taiwan Semiconductor, designed to protect sensitive electronic circuits from voltage transients. It features a working stand-off voltage of 6.4V and a breakdown voltage range of 7.13V to 7.88V at 10mA test current.
With a clamping voltage of 11.3V at a peak pulse current of 35.4A (10/1000μs waveform), this device provides robust surge protection. The reverse leakage current is 500μA at the working voltage. It is capable of handling 400W peak pulse power and has a peak forward surge current of 40A (8.3ms half sine wave).
The device is housed in a DO-204AL (DO-41) axial-lead through-hole package with pure tin plated leads. It has an operating junction temperature range of -55°C to 175°C and a thermal resistance junction-to-lead of 60°C/W typical. The part is RoHS compliant and halogen-free.
These TVS diodes are suitable for general purpose transient protection applications including lighting, ESD protection, and inductive switching load protection. The bidirectional configuration allows protection for AC lines or where polarity is not fixed.
