The STMicroelectronics BZW04-48B is a 400W transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode designed to protect sensitive electronics from overvoltage transients. It features a stand-off voltage of 47.8V and a maximum clamping voltage of 77V under a 10/1000µs waveform, with a peak pulse current rating of 5.2A. For faster 8/20µs surges, the clamping voltage is 100V and peak pulse current reaches 23A.
This Zener-based TVS diode offers a fast response time and a low clamping factor, making it suitable for general-purpose overvoltage protection. The device is unidirectional with a single bidirectional channel and is not intended for power line protection. It operates over a junction temperature range of -65°C to 175°C and can dissipate up to 1.7W on an infinite heatsink at 75°C ambient.
The BZW04-48B is housed in a DO-15 (DO-204AC) axial-lead through-hole package, suitable for manual or wave soldering with a maximum lead temperature of 230°C for 10 seconds. Typical capacitance is 320pF at 1MHz. The device is UL recognized.
The stand-off voltage (V_RWM) is 47.8V.
The maximum clamping voltage is 77V for a 10/1000µs waveform and 100V for an 8/20µs waveform.
The peak pulse current is 5.2A for a 10/1000µs waveform and 23A for an 8/20µs waveform.
It is available in a DO-15 (DO-204AC) axial-lead through-hole package.
